CASA of NWA is currently seeking
CASA needed for following counties; Benton, Washington, Carroll, & Madison.
A Court Appointed Special Advocate is a trained community volunteer who independently advocates for abused and neglected children by speaking for their best interests. CASA volunteers are appointed by the juvenile judges in the four-county area of Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington Counties). A CASA volunteer acts as a fact finder, providing a judge with valuable information to help the Court make a sound decision about the child’s future. Studies have shown that when a CASA is appointed to their case, foster children are moved fewer times and are more likely to find a safe and permanent home. Currently, CASA of Northwest Arkansas is only serving one in four children who need a CASA advocate.
If you are interested in becoming a CASA advocate, please complete our volunteer application and join our staff for CASA 101. Once you have completed CASA 101, we will proceed with your application process and schedule a personal interview. During the interview, I will answer any additional questions you have about the CASA program, the importance of being a CASA advocate, and the training needed to become an advocate. Our training consists of three day time session over one week, or two Saturday sessions, including classroom instruction, at home reading and activities, along with court observation. You must attend all sessions in order to complete the training.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at 479-725-2213 or send an e-mail to info@nwacasa.org.
