Advocate Training

The first step to becoming a CASA volunteer is attending a CASA 101, an informational meeting held at the CASA office at 3825 Cawood Lane, Springdale, AR 72762.

CASA 101 is held every third Thursday of the month at 10 am and 6 pm. Each session lasts about one hour. You only need to attend ONE CASA 101 session.

Attention Carroll and Madison County residents:  We will be hosting a CASA 101 at noon on Friday, February 3, at the Cornerstone Bank in Berryville. All are welcome! RSVP to katie@nwacasa.org or 479-725-2213.

The next step is to complete a personal interview with CASA staff to ensure that this opportunity is a good fit for you.

After a satisfactory interview, you will be invited to complete training.

We offer two types of Advocate training:

  • The traditional training series consists of 30 hours of in-classroom training
  • The flex training consists of six weeks of 3 hours-a-week, in-classroom training plus five weeks of online training

To obtain your Advocate certification, you must complete CASA 101, one full training series, along with reading, homework, and court observation (3 hours), approximately 30 Р35 hours.

If you have questions or would like information on our training classes, please call Arbor Buchanan at 479-725-2213 or email her at arbor@nwacasa.org.
