Foster Care Awareness Month

May is Foster Care Awareness Month

Every month, an average of 367 children, teens, and young adults will spend time in foster care in NWA. These young people are living in foster homes, relative placements, group homes, and shelters across the state, often being removed from eveything familiar to them.

Ensuring kids in foster care are safe, supported, and thriving requires a community approach – foster families, Independent Life Plan sponsors, Family Service Workers, attorneys ad litem, CASA volunteers, and many others working together to care for these deserving young people.

You are a vital part of this community supporting kids in foster care.

Here are a few ways you can get involved this month!
